Didier first started playing guitar with several regional bands like Exodus, and then committed himself as a ball musician. At the age of 21, he travelled to Africa and stayed in Mandingo and Diola Land for 2 years: a striking encounter.
He then trained with Sékou Facoly KOUROUMA, Ivorian dancer and drummer (ex-dancer of the Ballets of Ivoiry Coast) and plays in his band KAYRA with Drissa KONE and Lassina DRAME.
Meanwhile, Didier followed a musical training focusing on rhythms (Pearl Drum school of JF Miguel) and since 1990, he did regular training with Mamady KEITA in Paris and Brussels, as well as numerous classes with famous artists.
Percussionist for now 20 years in bands and professional companies, he accompanies as well African dance trainings.
Since 2000, he has incorporated his percussions and his own skills amongst several bands playing various musical styles. Currently, he plays and contributes to the creation for Embé Jass, Katouba, Saraman and the drum band "Tilo N’ding" that he founded and manages in Montluçon. |
